Our little peanut.

Our little peanut.

Steph had the first ultrasound today, just to get a better idea on the approximate due date: ~28 May 2009. The baby will be 9 weeks old tomorrow, assuming the doctor uses the date the technician said. The fetal heart rate was 160bpm which is right where it is supposed to be. The picture above you can make out the head and the torso and two little appenadages (aka arm and leg) and the umbilical cord. Squint if your having trouble, it probably wont help, but you will look funny doing it! :)

Steph is doing ok, very tired and nauseated which is coming very early this time around. She says she is “feeling it more” than when she was pregnant with Gavin.

Well we have had another exciting week. Nothing to do with the weather this time…but mainly with Gavin. Two Thursdays ago, Gavin started running a fever of 102F. We would give him Tylenol and it would go down and come back up. By Friday evening (actually Saturday morning at 2am) his temperature was up to 104, so we took him to Childrens Medical Center. Ended up that he had an ear infection, so the doc prescribed Amoxicillan. After one day of taking the drug he was starting to feel better. He slept rather well with the Tylenol, only waking up around 4am each day.  However that Monday, he broke out in a rash and was REALLY itchy! Steph took him to the pediatrician who told her he is allergic to Ammoxicillan…great! :( So we spent the next few days giving him Benadryl and Oatmeal baths, which really seemed to help! His rash is all gone now thankfully! He has retained the “wake up a 4am routine” this week which has been very annoying, but hopefully we can break him of that soon. Mommy and Daddy need thier sleep!

Since then, Gavin is crawling everywhere and has learned to climb up and down stairs. Its SO cute to watch! He is getting very good at going up, but is still a little nervous about going down. Wont be long until he starts walking, if he can ever get over the fear of walking on his own.
